I like the flowy piano at the beginning. This might be a little picky, but I wasn’t a fan of the rhythm/articulation in the strings - it just gave the texture a bit of a stumbly vibe that didn’t aid the flow very well, and they were also just a little too distracting. Perhaps it would’ve been a little better if the staccatos were shorter, so that the strings were a little bit out-of-the-way. How’s that for grossly specific criticism, huh? I like the little fake-climax into :22. The melodic content at :37 is great, and the quality of your samples is really high, as is your production. I really like the injection of intensity at :59. I really like the bright and energetic vibe of the piece, too. I think you could’ve had a bridge or breakdown section in the middle for dynamic contrast and variety, but the additional melodic section at 2:16 really hit this piece home IMO. Thrilling and beautiful work overall. Keep it up, CloakedSoup (awesome username, I might add). ;)

dang, epic song! its a bit of bad luck you're up against papkee IMHO, you would have a much easier time up against almost anyone else in this section of the bracket. great stuff tho, really intense cinematic work =D

I'm just going to assume that since this piece is orchestral, the general idea of where it's being "performed" is a concert hall. That being said, the piano sounds a bit dry. Yes, it is a solo-type instrument, but you don't want it to sound too much like you're listening to the sound of a piano played in a room with the background of an epic concert hall. Also, because strings take more time to attack, sometimes it appears the piano is slightly ahead of the rest of the orchestra. Adding some reverb should help. I'm guessing the Brass is your melody there. You want that to be your main focus.

The arpeggios in the strings seem to stand out a bit too much for me. Keep in mind that the higher the pitch, the easier it breaks through and becomes the center of attention.

Other than that, everything sounds AMAZING! It sounds so much like a orchestra, (though my bias opinion thinks that the strings could be louder because I play the violin). I would go see live performance of this.
