The overall song is ok...

As some may have mentioned, it lacks the difference in tone and loudness factors of all your instruments, everything is just forcing out like a popped balloon. To a regular ear, it may or may not seem as much, but for those who have a thing for musics like this, it may hurt them to say that you did it badly. You can do better than this. I'm sure of it. Mistakes are there to help you.

thanks but

this is ancient history

lol

I'm sorry but...

You killed it, it doesn't sound like a remix but an improved version of the original.

You sound like a younger me!

MegaMan mooziek! <3

Above that, your tracks really seem to remind me of a younger me, back in the day. I made the same mistakes you seem to be making at this very moment.

The thing is, it all sounds extremely LOUD. A key into making music sound fluid is by making it balanced, and that is largely accomplished by balancing out the instruments. For instance your main lead is extremely loud and distorts everything else, the rhythm also cuts in with sharp tones to distort a lot of other instruments as well.

I wish I had that one track I made a while ago of MMX (I was into it as well! Did lots of MM remixes) from that bossfight between X and Zero from X5 I believe. A lot of people let me know everything was just way too loud and it was hard to actually listen to the song since your attention is focused and glued to the main lead instrument, as was the case with me anyway.

So here's the tip: Tone the volume down a bit, and you'll notice a drastic improvement as you'll be able to hear the other instruments a lot clearer, which brings a lot more music to the foreground. Elsewise, well, I'd suggest to make a few sections in the remix that belong to you, say, alter the main melody a bit and make it more like a person version that YOU made. Your own badass version of the Spark Mandrill track. I believe I'm running out of space with the review, but, all I can really say is that you're on the right track, just keep the volume under control and when you're up to it, try breaking the habit and do a little personal influence in the track. :)

Best of luck,

- NT.

Rawrthaas responds:

Wow, thanks for the advice! I love advice :D

Personally, I don't think this is one of my better projects but your advice really helps, and reading your review has made me consider a lot of improvements for a potential future version.

Thanks abunch! :D

Dude..

That was the COOLEST Vg-remix EVAR!. Seriously, this brings back memories...
