Hey NG, this is another track from my experimental electronic/hip-hop/etc project "Kuma, the Stardust Cannibal". This one strays from hip-hop in terms of vocals although certainly retains some of its qualities instrumentally. However, it's rather difficult to nail down a genre for this one. Oh, and the lyrics touch on topics like the isolative nature of human perspective and the use of transhumanism as an attempt to escape human flaws.

Anyhow, if you even remotely like this, check out other tracks of mine here and on my soundcloud.

The vibe of this is really cool! Feels like I'm on a canoe wading through the universe.

Kuma-AKA responds:

Hi! Ya know, I recorded this awhiiile back now, and while there's all kinds of things I'd change about it in retrospect, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your thought here. The idea of anyone feeling inspired enough by something I've made to make that kind of ethereal comparison is uh well flattering, but more importantly inspiring. I don't work as much on music lately (focused on working on a graphic novel with my best friend), but the drive to feel that reciprocation of imagination is what keeps me going more than anything else. So thank you, you made my night.

Those vocals are smooth as fuck at first, then they go down in quality as they get louder and more distorted, imo. The rest of your instruments don't feel like they're trying to work together as much as support the vocals. The percussion is pretty good, besides that distorted kick imo. :)

Kuma-AKA responds:

Hey man, thanks for the review. Yeah, the vocals were something I sort of played around with for this track. This project I'm working on right now has a lot of vocal distortion, I'm kind of playing with merging a more industrial aesthetic with a more ethereal one. And yeah this track, unlike most of my tracks had more focus on vocals. That wasn't necessarily the plan at first but that's how the mix kinda turned out, for better or worse. Anyways, appreciate the feedback dude :)

Sounds dope dude! Kind of remind me of Beck a little bit. Nothing wrong with that! Killer stuff dude!

Kuma-AKA responds:

Hey, thanks man!! Appreciate you taking the time to check out some of my work (and [shameless plug] feel free to check out my soundcloud, the link to which you may find in the track description, if you so desire)! I certainly feel complimented by that comparison haha. I'll be sure to share your band's track btw, and I'll stay privy to your page going forward! Keep it up dude
