Started out just wanting to try out some of Kontakt's orchestral library which I've not long since purchased. I decided on a horror theme, with the keys and choirs, and built it up from that point. Also the motif that starts at 0:35 is my sort of play on the old playground chant "Why Are We Waiting". I thought it fit a kind of 'doll or 'child' theme.

The song primarily uses instruments that came with Komplete 10, but I've got some synth strings from PoiZone, and a bass instrument using Massive.

Really good stuff. Definitely get a Danny Elfman vibe. Especially at 1:11 when the pulsing synth kicks in. I love the composition, the track has a good sense of building up throughout. The way you use the samples sounds great, although I would say the one thing worth fiddling with is expression and timing controls on your MIDI. It definitely seems that you've done some of that, but there are just some parts that I can't help but feel sound robotic. There's really only so far you can go with samples though, and I think what you have going on is pretty nicely up there.

HellboundDochi responds:

Thank you. I definitely get what you mean with the MIDI expressions and timing controls, something I've always had a bit of trouble with, but trying to work on.
