Wrote this for the NG Deserted Island Contest that Samulis is hosting!;

We had to use between 10-25 out of the 50 samples that Samulis uploaded.
The samples really inspired me they sort of have that old-school RPG feel/sound to it xD that's why I decided to list this under Video Game.
I didn't go too crazy on the effects just some reverb, EQ and delays on a couple of instruments and a little compression on the master channel.

I've used 15 samples for this and here's the ones I've used:
KSHarp_A4_mf1.wav
KSHarp_A2_f1.wav
LDFlute_expvib_A3_v1_1.wav
LLVln_ArcoVib_A3_mf.wav
LLVln_ArcoVib_A5_mf.wav

Really pretty ngl

0:00-0:12: 8/10: Nice intro, but repetitive.
0:13-0:32: 9/10: Like this part. Very relaxing.
0:33-1:00: 10/10: Awesome and relaxing. This part makes it one of the best GD custom songs ever. Closest competitors are Glorious Morning and Swirl.
1:01-1:18: 10/10: Love this part, almost a segway.
1:19-1:39: 9/10: Nice, but slightly repetitive background that should be slightly softer.
1:40-2:00: 10/10: Great part. Love the whistle.
2:01-2:20: 10/10: Similar but different to first "drop", and just as good.
2:21-2:37: 9/10: Abrupt but nice ending.

I remember this competition. You totally nailed it. This is fantastic, awe-inspiring work.
I feel completely transported to another world, it's so evocative.

Mind = blown.

Mattashi responds:

Wow thanks a lot man! :)

I love the mellow mood at the beginning with the arpeggios. Beautiful instrumentation and melodies. It's majestic and serene, and has a well-built atmosphere to it. One complaint I may throw out there is that it had little rhythmic variation (especially in the lead instrument) and melodic development. I'll also say that I thought it was a little bit...safe. You could've heightened the emotion a lot more here and really gone for some sweeping roller-coaster-ride sort of phrases. Instead, this piece is a little passive and I'm almost tempted to call it background music. Overall, though, it's coherent enough while still possessing enough structural variety to keep me engaged. You definitely captured the deserted island theme well. This is solid work in general, and I thought the decelerando at the end was fitting. You seemed to go for a very flowy style of progression here, so I admire the conclusiveness it had by the end. Keep up the good work, Mattashi! ;)

Mattashi responds:

Thank you TaintedLogic :) I should have spend some more time on this but I've been busy with work lately and really wanted to enter this contest so I composed something on my day off.
Thanks for the feedback!

I really like this. It really does sound like an old RPG song, nice work
