CeeëX - Elite four battle theme!

I'm actually a huge fan pokemon. So much, that I made a fanmade soundtrack. Inspired by all battle soundtracks of pokemon I made my own version of what an elite four battle should be like!

Chandelure is definitely my favorite one! What's yours?

Elite Four Battle was a fanmade production by me.

Enjoy!

I really like the sounds, and you did what you set out to do, which was to create a super HD elite four battle song rendition.

What the hell did you use for the brass and strings?

Also my favorite pokemon's Cincinno.

CeeeX responds:

I used the well-known EWQL.

Thanks for the feedback!

Very good from a compositional perspective!!! I love that little piano refrain.

The mastering quite wacky though. The drums almost cease to exist when too much is going on, I would EQ-subtract the bass outta the strings or at least sidechain em to the bassy drums.

The outro doesn't work for me personally, that fade is too abrupt and I personally think a song like this would benefit from a big final end note with a final drum+string blast or something like that, not a wimpy little fade-to-silence.

With good mastering this would be 5/5! For now 2.

CeeeX responds:

It's pretty hard to mix and master when you combine an organic orchestra sound together with electric kicks, but I'll work on that in time, because I have to admit that mix & mastering is probably one of my weakest points, which should actually be more important than the composition itself!

The reason why I faded the music out like that is because this is a concept of a gaming soundtrack that's going to be looped over and over.

Thanks for your great feedback though!

yes that is the piano I want to hear but the transition is too much, welcome back to 1:30 but cut the bassline tracks, drums included, mellow it out, and more ocresral, def, good start though! i like it! so 4.5 for you. in short . i like, !

CeeeX responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you liked this piece as well ;P

I love it! The mastering fits the genre to a T, and every instrument seems to blend into the song as a whole. On top of everything, there are no sudden changes or any out of place instruments. 5/5 from me :)

not bad, could use some more reverb on instruments. They sound close to dry and I also I think panning is too much all over the place. All in all, not bad I guess 4.5 this time

CeeeX responds:

Hahaha ok, these are quite some understandable suggestions, but I'll tell you why I don't really agree to those solutions.

In orchestra compositions it is important to hear what all the instruments are doing. You should picture it as if you're giving each member of the orchestraband a place to sit.

if you were to put them all in the center, then it would sound way too full and way too packed and it would definitely be exhausting to your ears.

The reverb is something I really have to work on along with many other stuff

Thanks for the feedback though!
