I was challenging myself to make a jazzy track in famitracker only using the 2A03 NES chip. This is the result.
I had to drop the clock speed in famitracker to get nice slow arpeggios. The only problem with that is it screwed with a lot of the vibrato effects I had already written in.
There is also a pretty awkward DPCM drum solo near the end haha
Can't help but thinking about Earthbound battles when listening to this...
The bass part is definitely jazzy - walkin along. I really liked your use of silence (around 50 seconds), it can be the loudest sound sometimes. The lead stole the show for me at the 1:17 mark, and it was pretty great how the other synth picked up where it left off (or did you just switch waveforms on me?)
Chiptune jazz, bold move.
