Well this is a song I was working on - still trying to get as pro as I can - its not the full one because sadly newgrounds wont allow a song larger than 15mb ( this one was 17). But i hope you guys like it - Ill have a youtube link later for the full one.

p.s I messed this thing up in a lot of ways - but hey im trying my best to get there.

First thing I've noticed is that the kick sample and your bass sound is really out of date in Trance. People normally use it as a mid bass rather the main sub one. Also, really look into either getting better drum packs or making better ones yourself. They really aren't that powerful.

Your first synth is quite loud compared to the rest of your mix. The chord progression you have as well does not make any sort of musical sense. It just sounds like its thrown out of random. Lastly, do your best to avoid those cheesy saw synths. That stuff is really old school. (Unless you wanted this track to sound old school!)

Keep at it man. Try to make better synths sounds next time!

Your totally right about everything - this like most of my pieces is really something im trouble shooting at, as for the kick and bass - ( fml for the speakers have ) it does sound a bit old school - which I like to add every once in a while. For the most part this track wasn't fully mastered - the kick was really weak, and the bass , well; I didn't layer at all.
As for the chord XD - I had a few people say sounded a but childish -and finally the saw synth, I do agree that it was bare ( but if I added a bit more to it , im sure it wouldn't sound bad ; you never get tired of the "great" saw synth).
For me - I feel the track needs a lot more work - but slowly - I know that powerful trance feel will come out.

Thanx for your review - it always helps.

you can reduce the data size by lowering the bitrate. while 320kbps is great, in most cases 128-192kbps will be fine and the drop in quality will be barely noticable. keep in mind also that fl studio (assuming that is what you are using) seems to over estimate the final size of mp3 files by 1-3mb

that being said, this definitely needs some remastering before 3:58 but you have something going. one of the components of each of your buildups seems to have a lot of very intense white noise in it. IMHO it is a little too intense. I also think that be bass needs something is a few places, perhaps just a little more stereo offset on the delay.

that being said, it is a great start. plenty of variation while maintaining a repetitiveness that makes it easy to add into a long set. also a great selection of samples.

Thanx for your response - that certainly seems worth trying. I also felt the same way when previewing it ( the bass seemed oddly less powerful in some places ), I also kept white noise in most of my build ups = I just wish i could hear them better since im not really using good stereos.
As a side note - this one particular bass I made from scratch in 3osc - and used reverb instead of full on delay - unless your talking about another component of it, anyway thanx for the advice.
