Van halen running with the devil remix. still work in progress would greatly love feedback. would love to do some justice with a sweet dubstep track. All criticism negative and positive would be appreciated more than you know.

Credit to David lee Roth on the vocals and Van Halen on the instrumentals/riffs/guita rs etc.

Mastering is off x 10^435! Every single sound has the bandwidth of an entire song lololol wow.

It's almost impossible to look past that, but beyond it is somthing with /some/ potential?

DJMERKEREE responds:

Thanks, yeah my mastering skills overall are pretty shit, but i see what your saying, I'll make sure to check out some mastering tutorials to fix that over screeching on the distortion without losing the sound I'm trying to get.

I'm still pretty new to Ableton live let alone any DAW and the last thing I've focused on is mastering and making sure each separate miditrack and audiotrack are able to complement each other but in some cases shine through. Thanks for the confidence and the feedback hopefully you'll enjoy the track when its completed in the following weeks.

Honestly mate, full critisim...

possibly the worst thing I've ever heard.

What can you do to improve?

Well, everything is clipping. Literally everything. Lower your kick, snare, everything.

Unfortunately, even that will not save this.

DJMERKEREE responds:

Thanks dude, yeah I've only been working on it for a day now most of it trying to get the audio warped,I appreciate the advice

My main thing is definitely trying to STAY&STRAY AWAY from the filter loop repeating "sound being interchangeable with chord, beat, melody" BORING style with a couple of FX and pads that slightly alters a "loop" into the same loop but with a few effects that ends up being misinterpreted as a song.

Now when you refer to clipping are you referring to mastering each track like "GershBeats" was referring to so that not all the seperate track bandwith/frequency is so loud and that it varies slightly to accentuate certain sounds?

I like what you were trying to do, it just doesn't sound that good. I feel like it can be pulled together better. There's an idea there, and it has potential, but it lacks actual substance. Work on it, and you can make something great here.

DJMERKEREE responds:

Thanks Zeta, this is about a day of work (most of it trying to learn how to warp acapellas). Yeah alot of the needless screech bass sound thats in there now to "try" and sound dubstep may have to go if i cant get it to fit. This definitely isnt the final track. Kind of just a framework for the song, more than likely after the final track is uploaded it'll sound similar to this but without (hopefully) alot of the errors. Thanks for the "potential" props lol
