This is something I made in about an hour after being inspired by a painting of a small home in an enclosed spot surrounded by 4 waterfalls. I decided to make something that I think would be suiting to that particular image :)

Imagine an old adventurer returning to his isolated home in an enclosure after a long adventure.

Just something small I did for fun, I didn't want to over think it and ruin the creative process. I figured I'd keep it pure and not over complicate this one. Enjoy!

I agree with the idea that rating a piece purely on how long it took to make it is completely bulls**t. For that reason I'm compensating my review with a 2nd 5* rating on the "Rate This Submission" bar to the left just to prove a point.

No, this should not lose points because it was done quickly, it should GAIN points simply because a piece written that quickly that has this much charm proves it was done of a burst of inspiration born from other forms of art and explored, then shared by a creative mind.
Hat off to you, sir, good job.

Yes! Thank you! That's a great way of putting it! How long it took to create is completely irrelevant to it's quality. When a song is captured in the moment then it keeps all it's charm and natural elements that makes it great without being imposed on. Almost like a photographer taking an amazing shot in the moment of inspiration without any pre-planning and unnecessary thought (the best analogy I could think of:P).

Thanks again, your input is greatly appreciated!

Even if this is a great song, (which it is) DON'T tell how long the song was if it took 2 hours or less. If u do, the ratings will go down. (that's why I gave it 3.5 'stead of 4)

DuttonsaysHi responds:

But that's ridiculous.. If you're just rating me on how long it took to create then you're not focusing on the music at all. If the song is great, why does it matter how long it took to finish? Think about it, If you're saying you would have given me a higher score if I didn't mention the time it took to make then that means how long it took doesn't matter.. at all. I know you didn't deduct that many points but I'm just saying that way of thinking is silly.

I made this as part of a challenge to see what I could come up with in an hour (I do this from time to time to test the abilities I've learnt since the last challenge) . I gave myself a time limit, found a basic idea to go off and then created the song from that.. that's why it took 1 hour. If I'd put any time into it, then I'd over-think and put too much unecessary details into it and loose that natural vibe that the simpler version holds and most likely ruin it(I've done that with a lot of tracks in the past. I have a lot of potential tracks just dying away because of it).

But I guess you're right, I shouldn't mention how long it took if there are people out there willing to think that how long a song took matters more than the quality itself.

(I'm not trying to be mean but I strongly disagree with your point.)

It sound so realistic. Really sounded like you played the guitar :o. Quite catchy beats in here! I think this is one of your best songs at the moment man. This really fits well for a videogame!

DuttonsaysHi responds:

Thank you! I think it sounds that way because I kept it as pure as possible. I mastered everything to sound clear enough without editing the fuck out of them :3 and I'm glad! hopefully somebody will find a use for it in their video game project :P

thanks for the kind words!
