This was my submission for the Newgrounds CD that didn't get in. LOL I knew I should have tried something different.
There was one synth that I had always wanted to use but I never could put in any songs. It was just too big to put with anything else so this is it. I had a difficult time with the lead because I couldn't figure out what sound I liked. I knew I wanted something smooth that was echoey. I almost went with straight piano but that just didn't sound right to me. Though there still is some echoey piano in there LOL. Other than that, there's not a lot to this song. I'm glad I got to work on this as a submission it was fun and Fatkid is amazing for arranging this whole CD thing.
I wanted this song to sound sad as you can hear. I feel space and ambient music go hand in hand so I made it about that pretty much. To me, space is just very interesting. Anyways, I wanted you to feel as if you were floating through the void and actually witnessing the death of Earth. All of the memories you had being here rush over you and you just feel sad that it's all gone now. Yeah not really a lot going on here.
I certainly get the vibe!
As I listened to this, I did get the feeling that I was observing the surface of a planet that, at one point was teeming with life, but is now empty.
The melody carries this song well, and the fact that you didn't do something cliche' like going into some sort of beat or drum loop helps this song stand out to me.

Oh, hehe I am absolutely horrible with beats to the point that I barely use them LOL! I'm not too fond of beats in music like this either it's why I like ambient music because it can have these nice melodies and no beats to change the mood or the feeling of them. EPIC SAUCE
This is sooooo GREAT. I cant totally see the erth ending right now. the synths create a erie sense of destruction, that is really peaceful too. Very good combination of effects to create that imagery. Usually, I don't care for ambience stuff, but this flows nicely and tells an interesting story. It's not just some boring loop.
It's kinda weird how it just drifts off though. I think it might be better if you give it a more conclusive ending.
