but kinda noticed is the like a mis played beat in the background? it sounds like the songs almost stumbling on itself

I think you're referring to the kick drum pattern when the guitar kicks in. That pattern is intentional. When that pattern is performed on top of the main "beat" it creates a poly-rhythm. Basically, it's there for effect!
