Did I Fail It, is it Full of Win, or is it just Epic??? (Fails @ 0:45-1:05, Wins @ 1:05 to end)

Inspired By: "The Sith Spacecraft Battle" [french horns/flute and timpani rhythms and voicing] by John Williams, "The Black Angel Come Forth" [xylophone, strings, and horns in crisis] by Kohei Tanaka, "Romeo and Juliet" [winning conclusion] (Tchaikovsky version), and especially "Boss Battle (Crisis, Opportunity)" [the interactivity element!] by Yutaka Minobe, "Yavin Action" by Chris Huelsbeck [some xylophone rhythms]. Now you know how a composer like myself thinks, lol!

This is for the people out there who want a dose of epicness (I don't know, is it?), with a side of interactivity. I really give Overworks' audio team super kudos for using a rarely heard element in game music history when it came down to the boss battles in Skies of Arcadia. The "interactivity" of the music would help indicate how well you are doing in a battle with a boss, whether you are ok, about to die, or about to finish off the boss.

I've made so many revisions of this song, it isn't funny (about 4 major ones to be exact). Do I need to make the staccato strings warmer? Is my Tubular Keyboard (named as such because I modified the sound generator for an AMG keyboard to sound like the Tubular Bells, yet retain the settings) too loud? Am I finally going to hear that trio of flutes, xylophone and trumpet at the end (favorite part, btw)?

Want to hear the song as it was "originally" intended? Get iTunes or a player with an equalizer that has a "Classical" preset, and have a listen. I find it too bad I can't make my final versions sound like that, in any genre, but maybe someday...!

Greets to: Gravey, HalcyonicFalconX and all other grand NG artists that can blow this tune out of the water with their classical prowess! 8D

Well done!

I like this song and its composition. I don't know if I would use this for an epic boss fight myself, however it definitely sounds like an epic theme for an RPG.
I like its composition and I think its decently well written. The problem with it is the sound. It needs work on the mixing side, and also on the mastering side.
However I certainly liked this enough that I chose to download it and remaster it myself. So if you want it, just email me about it or PM me.
Keep up the good work!

Wow, I'm speechless. And yes, I'll definitely be requesting that remastering! It's a real priceless joy to have an actual AP celeb reply to my "greets"! :-D

FaeryTaleAdventurer responds:

Thank you! 'Tis nice to know this is good enough to listen to while working. I hope to make more FULL OF WIN works in the future...
