BAZ - A Piano Song @190.69bpm

I haven't quite had the balls to use a piano synthesizer for a long time, I usually have such a hard time getting them to sound like an actual piano. But I did some experimenting in this song, and I believe I've gotten about as close as I'm going to get.

Anyways, this track is kind of moody and kind of jumpy at the same time. The piano is backed up by some synthesizers and some drums for a kind of DNB feeling. It didn't take me terribly long to make this, I just started it yesterday morning and finished this morning. There's no samples this time, just midi and effects.
I've updated it a few times, so if you've got a download from before the date below, you might want to re-download and overwrite your previous file. Don't worry - this is the final version. This is definitely my favorite work that I have done so far, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed making it.

- Even better mastering
- More strategic compression (less muddy)
- More subwoofer action in general
- Some fancy automated filter effects
- Cleaner snare
- Some delay effects

Thanks a lot 0-bombers, where would I be without you? >.>

Love it.

I would just like for it to be louder. It seems awfully quiet to me. Other than that this is a great piece.

BAZmotherfucker responds:

There are a lot of different voices and harmonies in this song, and I wanted them to be able to come through in a dynamic way. That means I had to be strategic with my compressors and lower the volume in order to avoid excessive peaking. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the greatest at mixing/mastering, I'm a lot more into the sequencing and voicing aspect of it.

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to get the sound of a real piano out of anything. Period. It doesnt matter what vst you have, what mic's or how many, etc etc speakers, amp's, DAC's etc etc, it will never ever ever come close to a real grand piano.

BAZmotherfucker responds:

Well yeah, any set of speakers ever is missing the fundamental acoustics for a grand piano sound. Just like how a drum set will never sound the same when recorded as it does in the room, no matter how good your drum mics are. That's simply the reality of working with electronic sound waves vs. acoustic.

Great Job man

This is a great step for people who are into piano to finally take a step out of thier boundaries and look into techno and trance. Smooth, up-beat but not to rough.
Keep up the work man.

P.s. If your gonna download be kind enough to vote

BAZmotherfucker responds:

That's what I'm saying, 200 votes for 5,000 DLs? These people are crazy.

Your artist name...

..Makes me laugh everytime for some reason. Love the piano in this track, would be fun to make a trance tune out of it too I reckon!
