Definitely impressive for your first song

As previously mentioned though, the middle break down needs some help, if not removed. You drag the chords out for nearly a minute, and fail to really change anything during the entire bit. Then once you reach the second build up at 2:24, you fail to introduce a new line to the melody, making the piece feel to repeated for me. That being said, I truly loved the way you added layers when you did.

Agreed. This was my first song I ever made, so it definitely has its flaws. For a first song, though, I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Good

It sounds almost New wave 80's or something. I like it but there is much distortion from the base. I'm guessing you are using FL, which means this could easily be distorted. Another thing to note, is the string break in the middle. It's generally too long, and it feels as though it just keeps going, and going, and going. Also, the whole thing is just a rhythm. It has no melody, although the strings are close, they just don't bring it in. Other than that, I enjoyed it. The ending is really nice, and the bass and other instruments you used to build it up really fit. Good job. :D
