cool
Well, in honor of Kevin Bacon Day, I decided to have fun with the title of this one lol. This is my submission for NGADM Round 3, if any of y'all are familiar with the Deathmatch that's been going on here. It is a work in progress, but there are several elements at play here. First, this song is a direct inspiration from the likes of artists such as Nero, Bar9, Datsik, Funtcase, Black Sun Empire, Skream, Pendulum, Linkin Park (which, for credit purposes, is where I got the "LET'S TRY SOMETHING ELSE" line from, from Linkin Park's "Cure for the Itch" on their debut album, Hybrid Theory), and my current favorite band, Karnivool (masterminds of sound - check out "Themata" and "Sound Awake," two albums that will change your outlook on music forever). While the song is not necessarily groundbreaking, I did want to test my complexity (I made this in roughly 3 days on FL Studio 9) and I wanted to see if it was possible for me to produce authentic wub bass like the pros - and I think I came pretty close.
Tell me what needs improvement with a kind comment below! Please don't 0-vote and don't tell me anything, as that only keeps my song backtracked.
I realize that it ends abruptly, but alas, it's only a WIP. In the final version there will be things changed. But, I want to hear your feedback first! =)
cool
great start
I would love to hear this idea flushed out, in a huge mixing atmosphere. the panning is dope already, the rest of the instrumentation could be wider. The kick could have more low end, a little delay on the lead could be nice too. really nice vibe here
cool
this song is good, if you use the sounds you use in bacon step and put something similar into reflections i think it will make it sound much better. the sounds come in at 41 seconds. i dont know what they are called but that dont matter
hope my advice helps :)
That sound is called a wobble bass! I've developed its sound far more now man; you should fo sho check out my dubstep remix of "Run The Heart" on Youtube to get an idea of where I stand now! (or just check out my page here to see it!)
Good
Definitely has some metal influence in the drums and the ominous overall atmosphere
Hellyeah man, for sure! Thanks for noticing those drums!
Wow
I think I've been through all your dubstep submissions, they are all amazing, honestly I like yours better than the more mainstream dub. this one is no exception.
I hope you keep going with this, I think you have potential to go far.
Hey wow, thanks man for another awesome review! To be honest, you're not the only one who's told me I've got some of the best dubstep around (not to sound like a braggart, I'm just going strictly off of what people have said lol). I'm very very interested in seeing how far I can go with this! =)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
