Well, I told myself I wasn't going to submit another song until 2010, but, this one can't wait. I was experimenting with my new M-Audio Keyrig 49, and I decided to do a sound scape and atmospheric song. "Alien Planets" is very much inspired by James Cameron's "Avatar" which I saw a couple days ago. The movie was amazing, thus the inspiration to make this song.
Now, to the Newgrounds users; I'm not stupid. None of you like sound scapes, but I'm uploading it anyway. I don't care how Newgrounds feels; what matters to me is how this song affects others in a way that the movie Avatar did for me. Hopefully, people actually take some time to listen to this, because people deserve it.
I don't want some dumb ass comments about "Oh, it's too boring." or "It needs percussion." or "It's not techno so it sucks balls." (<- Typical Newgrounds response). If you've got something nice or constructive to say, then say it. No bullshit.

I loved Avatar too! Saw it in 3D my first time. Plan on seeing it again soon.
Everything is golden, but the squeaking gets kind of annoying as it continues into the song. It disturbs the ambience, imho.

sounds scapes
well i like soundscapes alot... i can never do them because i feel my pads just dont invoke enough atmosphere on the track but you have done a great job with that here, it really puts you into the scene.
i thought the bird could be turned down some, with a little tinge more reverb. possibly put 1 o'clock to the right.
the low passed crashing effect was really really cool, almost like being under waves of water crashing, but more like air over a cove to me.
the static you had was a great idea, a nessessary addition to this track i think but i would have liked it to have done something besides sit there, maybe a little lower in amplitude and maybe automate small amplitude changes to the sample or noise osc so that it breathes.
as an extra effect you could reverse that bird sample and put it in from time to time and let it ping pong delay in the scene.
i see from hearing your other tracks you are big on visuals perhaps. this track did alot for my imagination so you get a 5/5 for that.

Haha, thanks man! You are completely right, I like my music to give people a visualization. The static was to simulate rain or a stream, and the crashing effect was to be thunder. It wasn't all that good a deal for it, but I like your ideas for the bird chirping. I might just try that. :)

I actually like sound scapes but they have to have some variety in the melody. they cant just be 5 minutes of looping sound. this is a good one and i applaud your skill.
