Here's a new one for y'all. Spent a fair bit of time on this one because I tried something new. The bridge is off-key. Let me be the first to say it. :D Throwin' out the rulebook here, people! XP

The melody's don't actually synch up harmonically but I was playing around and I liked how they seemed to flow regardless of tha fact. After some heavy automation, of course. :d

Anyways, made using solely Reason 4.0 and my midi keyboard. Used a buncha preset synths and rex loops, so sue me, though a few of the synths are from scratch. :)

As usual, please rate/review/enjoy! :)

[EDIT] A fellow Newgrounds user, IIPhase, has been kind enough to master the track for me for a higher-quality, less muddied sound. However, since I had distortion on my bassline it stands out a bit too much. :/ That's my fault, though, he was simply bringing out the elements as I had them in the track. :) You can download the mastered version here...

*Please take the time to go visit IIPhase's page if you like what he's done to the quality. The guy knows his mastering!

nice song man i could totally see the sunrise in my head while listening to this i like the beats and sounds nice repetition and vibrant <><><> mix

durn responds:

:) Thanks sniper. Definitely a morning-after tune, this one. :D

the sunrise in Toronto must be REALLY beautiful if it gave you the inspiration it gave you. Just hope that my head doesn't explode from it's beauty and epicness if I ever visit Toronto and see it. Anyways, the beats in this piece were interesting, refreshing, and just plain great. Good work man.

durn responds:

lol, thanks dude. :) To be honest, from my new place I get a great view of the sunset now. I made that song when I was still living in the west end and had to walk east into the sunrise every morning. :) Plus the song just reminded me of the kinda trance that'd be played at like 5-6am at an all-night rave when people're starting to unwind/go home. :)

Oh boy

And you do not have the best weed.

you dutch bastard! you're too correct. :P you can actually buy/own legally. *grumble*

:D glad ya liked it, man. thanks for the review. :)

Never heard anything entirely like it..

And its awesome. The mix of the guitars and the synth was perfect. i love the guitar break at 1:07. The only thing you could do to make it better is to make the beat a bit stronger. The title doesn't fit the song very well. The song had more of a racing feel to it rather than a sunrise.

I'm gonna have to download this one.

durn responds:

would it shock you to find out the guitar sound is actually just a heavily distorted clavinet?! :D I f'in love the clavinet, such a versatile sound. ranges from bass & organ to guitar & keyboard. :)

thanks for the kind words, man. :)

Keep on making good music!

Inspiration is a hard thing to get, it will come to you when you never expect it... I honestly hope there will always be inspiration in your life to keep on making great music like this! I uploaded all your best tracks into my cellphone, so whenever I'm under stress, I can find something soothing and encouraging to keep on going not giving up...
