A few weeks ago, my computer died and I lost everything
During this "hiatus", I listened to lots of music and gained Inspiration.
A few weeks later, I fixed my computer and start working on new songs.
Today, I finished my new comeback song, Turn It Up

Heavily Influenced by My cousin Michael Lopez. Thanks

Banging

A thumping tune that assaults the senses and leaves no stone unturned in the quest to ransack the brain.

This is quite a piece, but sadly after a while, it does get a little repetitive - there is variation there and the only real gripe I have with that is that this is not enough of a variation to distract from the usual part of the track that's going on around it. Perhaps expanding the variations, coupled with a few other bits of variation should just give it the shove in the right direction.

Interesting

It's so good to hear a house song that doesn't use that overused and annoying clapping sound in the intro. It's like 99% of newgrounds house and techno artist use that. So, it's very refreshening to hear a song without it.
Also, the main beat is far away from that boring "stamping" you can hear in so many songs.

You may have already noticed, but I'm not too keen of techno/house/trance. But your song is so completly different that I really like it. It is very varied and has interesting beats and effects to offer. It doesn't get boring one single second even though it's over 5 minutes long.

Only that little pause in the intro sounds a bit weird, maybe you can shorten it a bit or leave it out completly.

I thought I hated House

===============
Score: 10 / 10
Summary: I thought I hated House
Review: You are, hands down, one of the most impressive artists on NG.

I honestly thought I hated House, Techno and Trance, but this is incredible. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like it, I just don't hate it. This song, I like.

I had no idea it looped. It's done so greatly, that I didn't even notice. It was original, and I never got the feeling that it was repetitive, at all. I'm at a loss for words, again. I think that's what happened the last time I reviewed your stuff, too.

Great!

Not bad, for this genre.

I'm afraid that this sorta music isn't exactly my thing, but that does not mean that it can't be done well. This wasn't quite there, but not far off it.

To be honest, it often felt like it was switching between different songs, with no proper strand to hold them together..

It was also a bit too generic for my liking. Maybe it's just me, but many of the songs in this genre sound the exact same, and there was nothing original in this to separate it from the croud.

Review

First off, I don't think this is house music. No one cares about the genre misplacement on NG anyway, but just pointing it out.

Here are some things that you may want to consider.

Try to work more on your saw like tekky bass. It just sounds so generic missing the more mature sounding saws that benni benassi is so famous for. In other words, try to lower the higher frequencies and raise the 200-700hz range.

Vocals at 23 seconds is okay. Yeah everyone wants vocals in their track, but be careful what lyrics you put in. Cheesy lyrics just ruin the song (unless your going for a song parody.

24 seconds the screeching trance lead may need some working. Again it sounds rather generic. Maybe filter modulations and some eq adjustments might make the lead sound less generic.

55 seconds I likes your transition. It would be better if the fade out was longer and you didn't filter cut the upper frequencies of your trance lead. If any moment in this song, that was the only point of the song where I felt your trance lead actually fit well.

56 seconds I like your kick pattern. However at 1:10 I hear some clipping with your new instrument. Your filter modulation range is a bit too broad here. Narrow the range and that may make the clipping go away.

1:18 your new bass sound is much better than the saw one. Its quite clear and seems to be the lead role which I actually like. The only issue is that the bass pattern is playing one note. Mix it up a little to add diversity.

2:41 the transition may seem abrupt, but I'm glad you changed the theme of your song.....I guess this is the electro house portion of your song. I just think sometimes you added stuff in that just sounded like random. For example, 3:22 your background panning instrument seems to be playing a pattern that doesn't seem to match with the beat or maybe the sound of the instrument doesn't match with the bass. One or the other....hard to explain.

Your fx 8th delay effects at 2:42 are good. Might want to add some more white noise to it.

I like the diversity of this song. I was pleased to hear another transition at 3:37 seconds. The kick is strong, the bass is somewhat funky, and the percussion seem to work well too.

4:22 I suppose the return of that trance lead brings the song altogether. I felt it was just an extra portion of the song....just to make the song longer. I think 4:22 should have been the end of your song.

Everything I said is just my opinion. I thought the song was interesting with the different themes and not some super repetitive trance song. For some reason, I don't think this is a "loop" Kinda long for a loop maybe? So just work more on the instruments...make them sound less cheesy and less happy. You were going for a serious dark mood therefore happy hardcore instruments just don't mesh well. Your transitions seem to be for the most part effective. Keep making your songs consist of many instruments....I enjoyed it. 5/5 and 9/10 review.

Bye for now
