Out of all of the songs I have composed thus far, this is one of my favorites. It has a nice gothic feel due to the use of the Church Organ in the song and also has a slightly symphonic kick. Overall, though, it is more or less a rock song composed using Finale Printmusic.

The lyrical theme of this song is the end of a relationship; the protagonist of the story (or, rather, the unfinished concept album as a whole that I have created) is at the end of a relationship with someone he truly loved. He feels absolutely crushed by the ending of a love that he thought would never end. He expresses hope that the relationship can be mended and that he can be with his love again, but the future of the relationship looks rather grim. The vocals are synthesized into the song using a synth voice, but, for completion, I will go ahead and post the lyrics to the song as well below:

Edit December 23, 2010:
So, holy crap, never guessed this song would become so popular! Anyways, it's been a long time since I made this song, and one of the things people always asked me was why I didn't ever put my lyrics into this song. My response was always that I didn't have the ability to, and this was true at the time.

Now, however, I do have the ability to; in fact, on my Myspace page, I've put my lyrics into quite a few of my songs! The problem with putting my lyrics into this song, however, is that when I originally crafted the song, I didn't put much thought into how it would fit my vocal range. Long story short, it sounds a lot better without my lyrics put into it, so I will not be adding lyrics in at this time.

However, I am seriously considering mixing guest vocals into a lot of my old songs. If I ever get to this point, I'll be sure to mix them into this song just so all of you guys can finally here how this song is supposed to sound.

Thanks for all of the views and votes guys, I really appreciate it.

Finale =/

As much as it is an EXCELLENT tool for composition, the playback sounds absolutely horrible. haha
I know you probably can't do anything about it right now, but I'm going to say it anyway: look into a different program for the "finished product". I really like the composition though.
If you want, I could "cover" your unfinished song. Look through the stuff on my account beforehand though. It will sound less Gothic (think Industrial Rock or heavy Alternative) and have a few changes, but I'm willing to try to do a decent cover.
PM me back if you want to collaborate!

EdgeCrimson responds:

Thanks for the review! I never intended this to be the finished product, I just wanted to get some of the music I had been writing out, so I decided to use Newgrounds for that purpose. The music was written with the intention to be performed live, so I believe that since this is the "rough draft" copy of the song, the way it turned out is acceptable (to me at least).

I'm not sure if I want to delve into a different program right now or not; I'm kinda on the line between whether or not I want to continue composing for band stuff (as in stuff to be performed with real instruments) or if I want to branch off and compose stuff purely by computer (as in intended for internet use). I'm leaning towards the former, but, depending on how things go with some of my other songs on Newgrounds, I might go for the latter. If you have a good composing program in mind (as I'm sure you do) though, maybe lemme know.

On the subject of covering the song... hmm, interesting prospect, but I'm not sure what I think of it right now. I'll definitely check out some of your stuff, however, and, I'll PM you if I decide to do it.

very good

but put the lyrics in the song too

EdgeCrimson responds:

I'll definitely get the lyrics into the song eventually, but for now, this will stand as the basis for the real stuff. I created this song with the intention to perform it someday, but, for now, I'm content with keeping it in it's instrumental form. Maybe I'll add the lyrics to the song sometime.
