This piece's original intention was quite different from the imagery it holds now.

When I wrote it, I was seeing the dark silhouette of a cityscape harrowed by eternal rain. The lights were active in all the buildings, showing hundreds of tiny little glowing squares from miles away. It was like an oasis from the rain.

Now, I see an ancient, colossal tower in a blizzard. Atop it is a fierce yellow light, not quite like fire or torches...more like a glint of the sun, through thin clouds.

Inside, it is laced with marble and ancient, glowing runes. Beds and cooking areas, inns, shops, and even hotels were run in this place, now distilled forever under layers of ice and snow. And the monsters. The tower teems with monsters that snarl and drool and thump. No normal person could foot to the top alive, but in this kind of blizzard, it might be the only way.

Anyways ENOUGH OF MY FANTASY-ISMS

I write music as inspired by my own fiction. I write fiction as inspired by my own music. It all recurses and generally provides an delicious cycle (when it doesn't hit a piece of gum or something). This is one of those pieces that has kept coming back at me.

I don't know what more you could possibly want me to say. XD

"chilly"

5/5 10/10 this music made me feel cold just listening to it! I agree with your second discription, the music evokes a dark, wintery feeling and a slightly sinister one too!

Glad to vote and reveiw!

4/5 8/10. It all goes together very well. I love how you arranged this, although the sound of the bells isn't quite right, though. Maybe drop them an octave or two? Also at times the snare seems a little too strong. Other then that, perfect.
(ironically, when i started reading your description while i was listening, it started storming where i live, rather violently i might add!)

Bluehawk-Dustorm responds:

Haha yeah, I agree about the snare, but while I was putting it together I tried toning it down a little and then it just got drowned out. ^^; Reparation failure on my part either way heh.

Oh, and thanks for actually giving feedback! It means a lot to me ^_^
