This is my entry for the Five Second Clip Contest. I put this under Video Game instead of Classical because I saw this working as the GAME OVER clip that you might here from a more serious video game.

This is my first contest entry too, so please give a review and vote, but be sure to enjoy!

<PS>

***Edit***

I managed to get rid of a lot of the empty space at the end! Yay!

<PS>

***Edit 2***

I added more to the instrumentation! Ooooh!

<PS>

***Edit 3***

I increased the tempo so that it can loop better.

Lol: It took me a few times to realize this was a loop, LOL XD

Anyway great loop! I don't really have anything else to say or any constructive criticism, except maybe make that cymbal-drum thing a tiny bit later (about 1/4 of a second) but that's just my opinion, it still pwnz and sounds awesome!

PenguinSam responds:

Thanks!

I can see why the cymbal could be later, but I think I will keep it where it is for personal reasons.

Little lacking, but the substance is there.

An interesting submission. I like the feel to it, but for a game over theme it is a little too light. Other than that, it has a good flow and is patched together exquisitely.

If you have the time, I would like to see a re-sub of this that has been extended a little further. While this is good for five seconds, I have the lurking suspition that if it were extended, even by two seconds, it would be perfect.

Ways to improve: (Five Second:) Nothing to improve upon other than how light it is. It has more of a heroic discovery sound to it, where as game over is more of a tragedy.
(Extended Version:) I would suggest adding something to the very end after the horns. Be it a bell or drum; this loop gives me the feeling that it needs something to take advantage of the energy being built up by the end. Something that can clearly signal the end.

Keep up the work,
-RSC

PenguinSam responds:

Too light? Well then, I have to fix that!

I do like the idea of adding something at the end. In fact, I think I have just the thing to do it.

Thank you kindly!

<PS>

Not bad

But you have too much silence at the end of this. Try wrapping it better

PenguinSam responds:

I don't know why it did that, I'll try to fix that.
