Easy Listening - Classical

Author Comments

A practice in basic species counterpoint.
Original melody (cantus firmus) by Joseph Fux <- (awesome last name person)

The five species counterpoints are practiced in this piece. I had to follow certain rules as to how to create these so forgive me if you think its not so great.

1st - 1 note to 1 note
2nd - 2 notes per note int he main melody
3rd - 4 notes
4th - 2 notes with emphasis on suspension
5th - combine them, buddy.

Written and recorded with Finale 08 with a very shoddy playback.

Thanks for listening!

pretty good

counterpoints hard if you make yourself follow all the rules. i think the 5th species part was the best. lol i dont know if you even come to this site anymore.
