Some ethnic bits mixed in with orchestral parts and metal elements. I do plan on adding in real guitar in here when I get some equipment. Fun Opinion: FL slayer is better for chugs than my squier when programmed right.

Where is this genre?

Honestly, it seems the lovechild of Indian/Middle-Eastern styles and metal is really neglected and really for the most part thrown aside or under the proverbial bus.

Why can't there be more interesting submissions like this? There's only a very strict few other submissions that are similar in genre to this, and that is really dissapointing, since this really can be much further exploered and experinmented with.

Anyways, enough tyraid. The composition of this song is really varied, I like that, it has all of the subtle features that constitute of Middle-Eastern music with an equally enojyably positioned metal section, it's really a subtle track that does a good amount of justice to the Middle-Eastern metal genre.

For those guitars, I honestly can't tell if they're real or not, which is something that's wrong with me, but I can't deny that they sound good and all, everything about this song is substantial and tight, except one thing.

This submission is way too short, I know it's supposed to be a loop. Just, all of the sections feel that they haven't completely lived out to thier possible potential, I have to admit I want more lol.

Actually, I challenge you to make a submission like this but only longer! Oh, the dare! ^_^

S3C responds:

thanks for the good review man, I appreciate it.

i know dude, although i havent ventured the metal section as much as I should, I haven't seen much World-Metal on the portal or even orchestral metal for that matter. I've only seen jrayteam6 combine guitars + orchestras and Middle Eastern influences in his song "Desert Metical". check his music out if you havent already, I think you will like it!

and thanks for grading on how the guitar's actual SOUND, not whether they are played, sampled, or synthesized. its actually the latter, the guitars are entirely made with FL Studio's "Slayer". they're terrible for lead sounds but work alright for chugs and palm muted riffs.

i actually have a longer version of this number. the parts don't transition well and I usually like to just finish and post the complete tracks if the working idea is over two minutes. I might just upload it tomorrow since you were kind enough to review. Thanks again man!

sweet!

I instantly lit up when the tablas and zills came in. pretty cool, love the sitar, but it is a little short and doesn't seem to finish the idea. interesting sounds though, keep it up! I wish I had this kind of stuff to work with, I'd never be bored again!

S3C responds:

thanks for the review! indeed i never finished the idea, theres about another 2 mins to this track but I scrapped the idea months ago.

always a pleasure to hear when someone's interested in worldly-influenced music. I must say though, I got a bunch of new sounds/instruments/samples around the same time, and despite having fresh sounds, it took me awhile to regain compositional ideas that I was satisified with. Stay creative and try innovating sounds with what you have, see how it turns out!

wow

this is pretty intense and so authentic. For this style of music the intro is pretty on point. When the drums kick in its pretty sick but i personally love the sitar. anyways the song was just kinda short and ended abruptly. Anyways great work keep it up :}

S3C responds:

thanks cebster! yeah i agree with the abrupt ending. its a WIP, so I do plan on continuing this in the future.

what can i say

i was gonna say it has a dessert feel to it but then i remembered that was the title, perfect loop by the way, sounds like a song that could be on one of those desert levels on a sonic game or somthing.

S3C responds:

doesnt sound cartoony enough for a sonic game :P

thanks fo da review LARNELL!

a 5

for the amazingly cool drum.
For the rest... it did not really kept my intrest...

S3C responds:

well atleast you liked the drums :P

Thanks for the review!
