cool
play with the sounds volumes a bit more to add some depth to the song so that the main powerful bits sound a lot more epic, but ye good work
The actual song was easily made, only a few hours. Anyways here are a few stats:
22 Channels
23 Patterns
3 Mixer Tracks
Used Fruity Reverb and Fruity Chorus as effects
Most of the soundfonts came from Hammersounds and I defenitely wouldnt have been able to make this song with the horns and strings I found there. I used one sytrus synth but it's in the background so not very important to the song.
Enjoy!

Out of the block, hopefully
Well, I liked the song's melodies a lot, but I always find that shorter strings (especially when using the same note more than once in a row) sound sort of hollow without a bassline in the background. The drums were good, but I found the snare to be a bit too artificial, with each hit sounding exactly the same. Some volume modification in order of accentuating certain notes would probably be enough to aid this problem. As the song progresses, it gets a lot better, but the trumpets at the end have the same problem as the strings in the beginning, in my view. All in all, it's a good song, but could use some tweaking.
could use a LOT of tweaking imo, i've locked this song away for good.
I learned a lot from this song though, what not to do and what not to do so in the end I'm glad I put it up.
Glad to see you back and thanks for the review :D

Hmmmm
This song was a bit of a mixed bag, of both good and bad. I really liked thet main trumpet part, and most of the beat was pretty solid and fit. But there were some serious timing mistakes in the background that really made the song sound a bit off. I really liked the climax of the song, very fitting and the strings part was excellent aswell. But just a few things need to be worked on. Other than the few mistakes, it's quite good

reminded me of a naval battle
tense and exciting, great use of drums to accent the main instruments and keep it entertaining throughout, I loved the frenzied string instruments about halfway in, and those loud wind instruments keep the tension through the entire piece, and to top it all off the climax was awesome, all those instruments playing without being annoying was great, loved it

Different Epic...
Where I come from, Epic does not translate to loud. To be honest, this is what I think you've done - turned up the volume and thrown in a lot more instruments to try and make this sound similar to an orchestral / drum and bass track.
Face it, it hasn't worked out for me.
If you're going to do orchestral, you just need to leave it as it is - there isn't any way to improve on a full orchestra - especially not by throwing a bass beat behind it, when you can provide that with the orchestra itself.
Slow it down a knotch and get the intruments to fall into line with each other - master it and then try again, as it will sound that the instruments are in harmony, rather than having 2 or 3 groups fighting for supremacy in this crowded arena.

Unfortuately, when I made this song I hadnt figured out how to use the mixer so there was absolutely no mastering here. But yeah I understand what you mean about the epicness and such
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
