Echoes of a Past Life

Last night, I sat at my piano... I began to think about my actions over the last couple of years, how they've affected those around me, and all the emotional outbursts i've had from medical problems that kept pileing and pileing. As I was thinking I started improvising a melody over a simple chord progression. While playing, I decided to turn over a new leaf (or at least try to).

This piece is titled such because even though my past choices will keep echoing, its all in the past...

Reflections

I'm often wrestling with my own feelings and emotions, wondering how much innocence I have lost since I was a child. In the society we live in today, people tell you to do what you want and who cares how it affects those around us? When I think about the choices I have made over the past years, many of them were very very selfish. How does one go about making amends for such wrong doings?

From pain, beauty arises...no matter the situation. You have managed to do that with your music. Obviously there is pain in your life and yet look at what you have created. Beauty in the beast.

Praeclarus...beautiful.

Tamadrum responds:

Wow. Thank you so much... Your review was left me with inspiration and hope for the future. and for this I will give you a virtual cookie! :D

Beautiful

The piano solo in the beginning set me up for what came to be a frenzy of emotion. Once the strings came in howerver. i cannot explain what i felt, it was to inspiring for words. Then when they faded, they did so in such a perfect manner i couldnt open my eyes. It was to beautiful. A masterpiece in my eyes. 10/10

Tamadrum responds:

Thanks man... You must have reviewed every song of mine by now? lol. I really appreciate all that you've said in you comments.

Okay...

The song has alot of emotion put behind it...
I really like it...

I don't really like most of your songs but some of them I really like...

9/10 rating

Tamadrum responds:

Thanks? lol. Well, glad you like this one... I'll try to get better for you. :P

Beautiful

This is truly a beautiful piece. Like BlazingDragon said, you can really tell that this had a lot of emotion put behind it.

I love it. 5/5

Tamadrum responds:

Thanks man. and thanks for the vote.

Mournful

I can feel the emotion pouring out of this one. That feeling of remorse and regret in clear, but with a hint of hope throughout. It's almost as if you made a lot of terrible mistakes you look back on with sadness, but you have hope because you are turning over a new leaf as you said.

Te chords progression and melody is simple and nice. Nothing over-the-top, but that is a good thing in this case. The introduction of the strings was a nice touch toward the end, though they were short lived. Dynamically, I like how you got louder at the climax. You need more softs, however, if you want to succesfully emulate a live piano. That, and perhaps use a bit of FL's automation capabilities to record in some subtle tempo changes. Also concerning mastering, a bit of reverb would have been nice in my opinion (Especially in the strings). Are you using the Roland Nice Piano soundfont I sent you a while back? This doesn't sound like it to me.

With a bit of tweaking in dynamics and mastering, this could be a very nice little piano piece. I'm not a fan of the pad at the end, though. Great job on this though!

PS. You totally are copying me. :P I busted out with "Tears of Remorse" recently, and now you are submitting a similar song with similar background. Even the piano/strings at the climax thing was something I did! Jeez man...You're killing me. xD At least the music is different. :)

Tamadrum responds:

Honestly, I realized that after I made this... I did throw in some little tempo changes like you were saying, maybe they were just too subtle for you. :P jk. Although I do now, in retrospect do realize I need some more softs. Unfortunetly, Im not using that Roland sondfont that you gave me... It didnt really fit my tastes. Thanks for the review Blaze!

PS. Now im gunna have to leave a really long review on something of yours if you keep doing it to everything I put up! :)
