Fun Fact: This was supposed to be on the Castles EP but it didn't quite fit the vibe. I dropped it eventually and forgot about it until now - 6 months later. I stumbled upon this is my random projects file and immediately picked up where I left off.

I was trying to make the song sound kind of mysterious to fit the vibe, as the project was already named 'undertow'. I will say though, I definitely cooked with the percussion, especially those hat patterns. I also went through the EQ and cut off a ton of highs (which is pretty consistent with every song from Castles LMAO) and automated some of the other effects.

This song was only up to the end of the first solo long when I picked it back up. I considered using it for a game loop, but I figured I would just see if I can come up with anything extra. I went for a more contrasting second solo that chops instead of floats like the first one.

I'll definitely be sharpening this song up over time since I think it's a bop.
