This is my entry for the third and last phase of NGMT '24, the theme was "Dark Cathedral".

I did not have any image reference this time, so I scavenged far and wide to gather as much broad inspiration as I could. So this song doesn't follow a story at all really lol

Almost all creepy samples I've recorded myself. They were either some practice runs from various instruments down a music hall I go to (recorded a long time ago had I ever needed them in the future lmao), or snippets from my local church (recorded specifically for NGMT).

This competition has gone extremely well for me, which I did not anticipate at all; but even if it didn't, it has been a really great experience. I never delved this much into orchestral/cinematic music, but it turns out that I'm actually pretty good at it, and that it's kinda fun to compose seven minutes of dynamic ambient soundtracks lol

woah this shit is beautiful—pure art. I'm being so serious when I say you should contact a scary games creator and make a collab!! This is the perfect chilling, mysterious vibe that's needed in a creepy story game or an adventure game with creepy backrounds.

It's very high quality and atmospheric! Very cool melodies and track structure.

Seven minutes is not short, but it’s impossible to get bored due to the variety, it feels like a whole album.

That ending with the church choir gives me goosebumps.
And it’s cool that these are not just samples from the Internet, that they have a history)
