When I heard of Akira Toriyama's passing, I can say for myself and a lot of people around the world that it was absolutely heart-shattering. None of us expected him to be gone so soon. I, like many others, grew up watching Dragon Ball Z after school. Yeah, it was the original Funimation dub, but it was our window to a world of wonder, excitement, amazing power and Earth-shaking battles. We got to watch our heroes duke it out with some of the most fearsome and terrible enemies, like Freeza, Cell, and Majin Buu. For me, Dragon Ball Z ended up becoming a gateway to many other shows and manga, and all that is thanks to the mind of one Akira Toriyama. I am still a huge Dragon Ball fan to this day, and I think I will always remain one to the day I die. After discovering the original Japanese version, along with its music, and the English dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai, my love for all things Dragon Ball only grew.
Cha-La Head Cha-La is the first opening track for the Dragon Ball Z anime, and it has been covered and remixed so many times, even Goku would be impressed at how many forms it has. Now, I know my take on it may not be as great as others may be, but after learning of Toriyama's death, I had to do something to show my appreciation for everything he's left behind for us to peruse and enjoy. Toriyama-sensei, this one is for you. I hope it makes you proud.
[EDIT] Thank you so much for the FP. Honestly, Star Ocean music aside, if there was one track I would hope'd get recognition and spread to as many ears as possible, it's this one, so thank you guys so much.
