The thing changes shape. Or did you?

Why make the thing if you don't want to share the thing? Simply for the joy? Are you endlessly circling the same creative drain? Stuck in a comfortable mode? Is it the art or is it you? The same, tired, neurobiology. You're out of new experiences? You're not experiencing new things. Circling the drain. Why did you hate this for so long?

Unique. Glad that you're still alive.

This has such a strange relationship to Thorn, it's almost unreal. They both use the exact same samples, however this one feels so much more floaty and ambient, probably due to the static-y, melting background sounds and sparse drums, on top of dense, soothing chords. It washes over your ears in a much more loose, flowy way.
By the way, 1:49 - 1:55 is literally the exact sample used for Thorn, drums and all. That's gonna be a difficult one to unhear.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Time to somehow supercut them together. ;)
I sorta, kinda, maybe, sliiiightly forgot about their connection. How fitting.
Burrowed too deep.
Theme'd for a theme.

I made that bit you time-stamped for 'TfaT', and then did a little offchute thing that turned into Thorn. Sounds like stuff I do. In my other tracks too. I have a lot of files that are littered with stuff like that. Little side loops and things. I know I made that segment and went..."WAIT, TIME FOR A NEW SONG."
Or more likely, I thought it'd be a new section that turned into it's own thing that became disconnected from the original idea, ha.

Sometimes a small nugget of cool noise turns into something else. My brain did a little ADHD backflip and we're off.
It's fun to follow those threads. I can't totally remember, but from past instances of this... I probably tried to work the two together and realized they're a bit too disconnected the more I worked.

All part of the deep lore. XD

A Theme for the Theme :) This is really good! I love the sound and the pace of it! Calming like the space ^-^

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks for listening! <3

all your songs are so breathtaking to me :o

the melodic sounds are really satisfying to hear, and the whole track makes me feel like im floating.. its such an amazing song :)

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thank you, kindly.

An ambient chill experience with very present drum sounds.
It's a nice track to just lay back and not get too in the head.

I wonder what the thought process is for coming up for the title?

I enjoy the keyboard sections a lot. I feel though the balancing could be improved on with relation to the drums. I find it somewhat distracting when immersing myself into the background reverb-y goodness.

- another curious observation is the shape of the fadeout curve for end section being exact with the peaking sound.

Nice one.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Mostly a just a cheeky joke title. I always felt like the second half of the song was a riff off/motif of the first portion. I dunno.

You might be right on that. The mix is a bit old. I think the mix improves later on in the track once the clippy kicks goes go away -- which does eventually happen @ ~1:40. It's a bit spicy. It's a bit poking. Aggravating? The track sorta brightens up towards the end. Intermixing that pokey kick with a bit more control. Feels ever-so-slightly more hopeful.

Sometimes you just make some decisions and roll with it. Fun to look back.

The melodic work was definitely my favorite bits of this. Some of the chilled out jazzy / shuffled hats and reverberating ratcheting static towards the end too.

I believe I faded out different elements towards the end, at different times?

Thanks for listening. <3
