This was a fun thing to test out. The beginning car sounds are from the climactic chase scene in the movie Drive. Pretty much everything else in the beginning of the song besides the drums and "Woo!" was made by chopping and flipping a part of the Space Dandy - Welcome to the X Dimension outro song. I reversed it changed the speed and then keyed the sample to a midi keyboard. There are still elements of this in the second part of the song but the synth takes the main stage at that point. For recording the synth I just kept the last half of the song on loop and kept jamming out on the keyboard until something came together I really liked. I ended up using a small portion of this riffing in the bridge where the dialogue happens.

The dialogue is from an anime movie I absolutely adore called Redline. The characters in the scene are Sonoshee and JP who fall in love over the course of the film. It's cheesy but is such a fun easy watch. It was how I first convinced many different friends to watch anime for the first time back in high school. The animation is also fantastically stylized.
