Waterflame - Dancing in the Rain (Oinks' Cover)

I wanted to make a remix of Waterflame's track, Dancing in the Rain, and when I was making the start, I realized that it sounds way too much like to original so I try to give more originality, maybe too much originality, it just sounds like a track on its own but with the Dancing in the Rain intro melody, bassline and chord progression, I originally wanted to make it sound more like the original but I kind of adjusted a little too much into something somewhat original.

Another thing I want to say about this track is that I am quite proud of it; it was an attempt on making something intricate and using unconventional (to me) structuring, and yeah, somewhere towards the end of the track, I went for a Dimrain47 style melody (and by Dimrain47 style, I meant a melody drowned in the arpeggiator), why? Well why not? I tried a lot new things and I was surprised that I was confident enough to do most of what my head wanted me to do. I'm not saying this track is perfect, and yeah, this track could be seen as messy and overkill, or overall bad structuring, and I kind of see that as well, but once again, I'm experimenting and I'm trying to make more risk within music production and composition, and see where it takes me.

Heres the in depth, inside of FL Studio of this track: https://youtu.be/RpKgO9IHQzg?si=PBPx-Hd0L-PV_e8I

Oh yeah, I should mention that I didn't realize that I can still upload tracks from FL Studio Trial, yeah, so maybe I'm back, only issue is that I need to make my tracks within a day or else I will need to log back in to open the file again, and for those who don't know, I have an Email problem, meaning that I cannot log back in, so all of my tracks need to be done within a day.

Although the weird structuring, I will say that I improved composition wise, but production wise (mixing, synth choice/design/editing, mastering,) I still need to work on it.

NOTE: I notice the that one of the bass layers is way too loud, and sadly I cannot fix the mix cause... you know... and I didn't notice this before bacause I was mixing this with just speakers and no headphones, though I cannot fix the mix of this track, I will keep in mind for the next track, and I'll use headphone to mix the next track. ...and also that skull piercing kick drum at 0:13, I'm sorry and once again I cannot fix that

This is fire 🔥🔥🔥

GDoinks responds:

Thank you! :D

Really cool I like the melody but if you want to make dimrain47 style you should make the drums louder and the melody a bit faster, but overall pretty good.

GDoinks responds:

Alright, I'll keep that in mind, I was kind of going for a mix of two tracks from Dimrain47 for the fast melody, one being 'A Question Of Fate...', for which the flowing yet chaotic complexity, and 'Duality' as well, for its fast speed in slower tempo (at least it feels slower for a Dimrain47 track, since Duality has more mid-tempo melodies, and yeah just realized that the fast melody in my track isn't fast enough to be Dimrain47-y) and also like Duality, I also tried getting its similar tone along with a more chiptune-y feel to tribute Waterflame as well. But yeah, next time I make something inspired by Dimrain47, I'll keep those tips in mind!
Thank you for the advice! :D
