It doesn't just sound like something from Sonic 2. it sounds very VERY close to the Metropolis Zone theme.

This is a song from "Half Baked", the barely real album of songs that are uploaded as I make them, for fun and for practice. Parts of this one sounds like a Sonic 2 stage to me
