Been a while since I uploaded music here, or made music in general.
I wrote the lyrics of this song three years ago for a remix contest by Tricky, one of my favourite artists for his song I'm in the Doorway. I did not win the contest and my remix wasn't really good but it was a nice challenge to do songs with vocals.
The instrumental was made two years ago.
I've been dealing with writer's block for a while now my brain has been completely fried from working, with all the bills I have to pay I am basically imprisoned in an office cubicle right now and I'm getting a bit sick of my job. It has come to the point where I am having dreams about working which was one of the many "Quit your job and do something you actually love" signs as well as me most definitely having a long overdue burnout. I wish it were that simple for me, but I am heavily in debt.
Being fed up with not being able to make music, I tried to actually "finish" a song for once. Even though my vocals are far from good and nowhere near the way I want my voice to sound, it makes me happy to have an actual idea, even if years old, to actually escape my head, and Newgrounds feels like a good place for me to post my song demos as I'm trying to get back into working on serious music projects for which I will eventually contact artist funding services to help me finance bigger projects.
Thanks for listening to my rambling, anyways here are the lyrics:
Meretricious species
inherit meretricious niches
Experiment with inhibitions
transient into ignition
The revolution will not be televised
Yet cancels the indifferent civilized
Fallen by their gravity
And now they're trying to clean it
Decapitated by reality
I'm heading off
narcissist charisma
attracts arsenic recipients
the resilience of multi-millions
civilians vaudevillians
