Voice Training Tips - (SFW)

Heya!

So. Every now and then a friend or, (I shudder to even say the word), a fan will ask for advice on voice training.

In case you didn’t know, I’m Jackie. I’m MTF transgender, and have been working on my own voice for a decent while.

And those who are earlier on in their transition, or who have had trouble starting voice training in the past, sometimes come by for any advice I might be able to give.

It isn't a super common occurrence, but it's happened enough that I thought it might be worth making something for that. So that I can have something to conveniently link to if I get asked again, or so anyone who might have been too shy to ask can get this information without needing to push for it!

I will say: I'm not a professional vocal trainer. My advice will probably not get you as far as someone who has spent time and money researching the ‘proper’ way to do things. This is just the process Iearnt over time, based on my own personal experience.

But I still wanted to make this as a free and openly available little resource. Just in case anyone might benefit from it!

I've tried to make it non-specific and useful to as many people as I could. I'm MTF transgender, but I tried to include things that could be useful for FTM, nonbinary folks, and even cis folks who simply want to work on how they sound!

I hope you enjoy! ^.^

You can find the text version here, if you'd prefer to read along, or would prefer not to use the audio at all.
