Very pleasant atmosphere and I also like how you used grace notes to make the melodies sound a little more interesting despite using such simple instruments.
Those crash cymbals don't sound good though.
Here we go, round 2. Of course while I have writers block, I receive a notification to make another track
I wanted this to be short and simple but I think I added too much background noise
EDIT 15/08/2023 : Added solo verse at 1:22, if it doesnt stick I will remove it. Feedback will be appreciated before the deadline of the competition

I figured it had too much crash, Im glad it was pointed out. Ill remove a lot of the excess and leave the crashes in at the end of the main portions at the very least. Thank you for the feedback!
So there's this kick thing that starts at 0:48 that kinda is a little bit too loud. I really like, even love how you managed to do the piano solo. And it's very loopable so that's a cool thing! Maybe it's because of the 2 hours (I wouldn't have been able to make this in 2 hours), but the overall quality of the percs and drums seem a tad low, I'm sure with some effects over it, it would definitely work for a good fixer-upper.
My percussion is actually just the standard DAC Drumset from the Sega Megadrive, so its naturally going to sound a bit cheap, but the cymbal crashes are from the Megaman Battle Network 5 drumkit specifically. I like to stick to old tools to give an authentic feel
As for my production speed, I spent 2 years of my life messing around on a composition program back in school called "Opticode Musicshop" and it really gave me a chance to learn the fundamentals of note placement and structure, so its not hard for me to fly through a project provided that I already have an idea of what its going to sound like, but most of the time I really just write as I go and wing it
Im trying to find the kick youre talking about, it might be an overlapped kick note from when I looped the two halves, so Ill do my best to find it
Thank you so much for the feedback
Genre redefining. Bone chilling. Chiptunesque.
A new generation of "oh heck"
Ooh you made it to the knockout round, congrats! This sounds really awesome and videogamey again, I like how it feels like the last phase of some boss battle. It packs a good punch and definitely feels like you're getting to some climactic thing or ending. The melody was amazingly done, and the percussion really helped amplify the mood. Great work, keep it up once again!!
Your reviews always make my face tingle, thank you so much for the support. I rushed the hell out of this piece, but I made a solid attempt at making the percussion as non-repetitive as possible, and arguably spent the most time modifying how it sounded.
I will continue my work in the near future and hope for the best!
