With the aid of guitar, mellotron instruments, and quite a bit of Ableton splicing, the first of hopefully half-a-dozen tunes (and accompanying zine) ready in time for an event in October. Basically July in... um... an oyster shell.
[Chorus] Oh no, it’s lung oyster season
I’m sick, yay lung oyster season
I don’t want, lung oyster season
Again
Heater going, stuck at home
Feel and hear my breath bubble and foam
Until another oyster comes loose
And gets dredged up
Brain just about dead
Mucus clogging nostrils lungs and head
Roll to the edge of bed
Spit another one up
[chorus]
I want to sleep
But up my windpipe the oysters creep
Waking me before I choke
I could just weep
The coughing causes me pain
Cough so hard it causes muscle strain
It hurts when I cough or laugh
or breathe
[Chorus]
Invite the walrus and carpenter to tea
Eat up lads! The oysters are on me
Fresh today, I dredged
Them up myself (without my consent)
God make the season end
I need to get on the mend
These oysters are driving me
Round the bed
