[track 3 of 8 from my album 'Opinionated']
I think the force of nature is the closest experience we have to the force of God. I suppose it's no coincidence that theological literature can depict natural disasters as communication from divine beings. We underestimate the potency of the four elements because we live our lives according to our own endurance, not theirs. Fire and water have existed perhaps as long as time, yet economic growth wants to best that longevity with projections that don't factor itself honestly into the worldwide equation.
I'm beginning to see a lot of people accept that, indeed, our climate is literally changing from typical to atypical. But, I'm afraid not enough people comprehend that a bunch of trains already left their stations. And even though they're all a few hundred miles away, we look more stupid the longer we play on the tracks.
