The old version’s intro strangely reminds me of System of a Down, I don’t know what exactly, but yeah. I like both the old and new versions, in their own ways. super good!!
Years ago my friend @TheRedRenegade painted me this picture titled "Never Too Young"
While I had it hanging up on my bedroom wall, I was inspired to write some guitar parts which later became this song.
In 2021, this song would end up on my first full length solo album "Black Sheep Gospel"
I am not very proud of how that album turned out but it was a necessary learning step to get better at singing, songwriting, and recording.
In 2023, I completely re-recorded and re-imagined it from the ground up to enter the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch competition. ( I finished and submitted 1 hour before the deadline.)
My original version of this song is HORRIBLE. Give it a listen if you dare!

Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, vocals, maracas, and castanets by me. Drums programmed by me on EZ Drummer. Trumpet programmed by me on Kontakt 7. Recorded, mixed and mastered in Reaper (how appropriate).
Thanks for listening!

I love the brass at the beginning and the strummed guitar. The injection of energy at :19 is a welcome addition to the texture, and I like the vocals at :31 too. The lyrics themselves are also really good. The drums get a little buried in the mix during the busier sections, but otherwise the production quality is solid. I especially like the growly vocals at 1:48, and you also kept the verses interesting with content like the scream at 2:26. The tremolo’d solo at 3:04 is really nice, although I might’ve liked to see some more variety in the refrain during the last time around at 3:27. Still, the energy level, sound design, mixing and mastering, and melodic content here are all fantastic. You nailed the Mexican-inspired instrumentation and rhythmic content too. Keep it up, CrossCarrasco! ^_^

love it :)
Thanks!
This is too cool!! Amazing compositional choices; super catchy melodies as well! That opening, too...hot dang, I love everything about this track. The improvement from the old track is instantly noticeable as well; fantastic work.
Thanks man! Glad you liked it. Had a lot of fun recording it this time around, especially now that I know what I'm doing. I always appreciate your feedback!
