LYRICS
Verse 1:
Take me up, never let me down,
Don't go slow, even when we're on the ground,
Never let me go, or leave me standing alone, please,
You paint your pretty pictures in your mind,
Help me to grow, please don't ask why,
This hurricane of hope will make me give this one more try,
Chorus 1:
And we all look for the perfect time to stand,
But what we do is all we have in the end,
Never let me go, never tell me where I stand,
And I'll cry, I'll cry, but don't ask why,
Verse 2:
So take me away, never let me go,
Don't ever try to take from me, what I don't know,
While I try to just stand on my own two feet on my own,
So let's take a chance on something let me try,
For once in my life, I don't know why,
A sigh of relief is really all that I need in my life,
Chorus 2:
And we all look for the perfect time to stand,
But what we do is all we have in the end,
Never let me go, never tell me where I stand,
And I'll cry, I'll cry, but don't ask why,
I started writing this song very early on. I always viewed it as more of an exercise in writing but it turned out good. Many years later, I was looking for songs to record at The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts. I put together a crack team of musicians to help bring this song to life. Now it's one of my favorites to play. This one

Joey Underwood and John Davis used to play in a band called The White Lighters together. They released some really cool tunes on CD but never really posted them anywhere,
James Underwood (brother of Joey) played in a few bands in the area but as far as I know has not released music of his own.
Joey, James and I were in a cover band called Gunship for a summer. We had a blast rocking some cool covers.
