ABOUT
This is the first song to my 11-Track album "World of Mine".
I worked on this song while making a tutorial about How to make Metal in FL Studio and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Hope you like it as well :D

LYRICS
Will the clouds wonder off
And leave to sight
A clear blue sky
Or will they uncover
Another layer to my eye
Will I find the next step
When the staircase is in my mind
Or will I wonder in spaces
That will keep me blind
In times like this I feel left behind
Hit the brakes, rewind
Stumbling further, too far
Is my destination beyond the stars?
Will this journey come to an end
Or is this a play and we just pretend
When reality blends
What you can't comprehend
The worries leaking through the pages
As viscous as ink
When the pressure starts rising
It really makes you think
All the warnings
All the sirens
They blink inside your head
Is this the moment your break
Or can you go a bit further
Stumbling further, too far
Is my destination beyond the stars?
Will this journey come to an end
Or is this a play and we just pretend
When reality blends
What you can't comprehend
(Siren noises)
The alarms go off
Can you get there in time
Hold on
Can you feel it
Is this the ending to your journey
Hold on
Thousand pages
Are being ripped and thrown away
Into the bin
Are being ripped and thrown away
Into the bin
Come let the storm begin
The layers getting thin
We will make your world spin
Happy ever after fin
Chaos within
When storm dies down
And reveals the sky
Will you hit the brakes, rewind?
Stumbling further, too far
Is my destination beyond the stars?
Will this journey come to an end
Or is this a play and we just pretend
And I'm stumbling further, too far
Is my destination beyond the stars?
Will this journey come to an end
Or is this a play and we just pretend
When reality blends
What you can't comprehend
EPIC
this goes harder than it has any right to go
There's some deep stuff going on here. The arpeggiated melodies, and then the drums with the electric gats on top. It's so grand. The drums here are excellent. Even though this isn't necessarily the genre I consume quite easily, it's still very captivating. Very melodic, very clean.
The vocals are actually really well done! This is fantastic.
Rockin' out to this!
Solid production!
FL Studio has come a long way, and it's just as useful for metal production as it is for hip-hop/dance tracks. The blend of distorted guitars and orchestral elements is on point, and you've got that kick/snare/bass/guitar dialed in on the money. The tone is in the zone! I am not a big fan of this song's style of vocal; however, the diction and vocal quality are impressive.
I would love to hear the cymbals pop out more, particularly the crashes and bell hits. In the intro section, they're a bit underneath the rhythm guitars and since they're adding that colorful tinkling tag, they could be more present. One way to get them to stand out is to create a bus for the cymbals and add distortion to that layer - a little goes a long way in the blending.
The rhythm section feels a bit loose in the intro (0:07 - 0:14), though the rest of the track is incredibly tight.
Overall, great track! Can't wait to hear more from you!
Oh wow, thank you so much for the in depth feedback!
I've gotten into heavier genres recently and especially in Deathcore (Shadow of Intent for example) I've noticed how quiet the cymbals were mixed. So that's probably why I tend to have them further back. However, I will definitely try out your suggestion to see how it sounds.
Yeah, the vocals are hit or miss... Some people love them, others can't stand them. In the album I've tried keeping a good ballance between singing and screaming so there's something for everyone. Track 4, 8, 9 and 11 for example have very little or no screaming at all. I hope you'll find yourself enjoying them as well :)
