Hey everyone!

I know I'm a little late in publishing this, but I didn't want too much time to go by without getting this up here. This is the first NG collab that I've participated in in a long time, and it felt good! I was super stoked to be able to participate in the NG Audio Portal 20th Anniversary collab, especially since this community has meant so much to me and my music over the years. While the song doesn't have much to do with the Audio Portal per se, it embodies the spirit of Newgrounds fully: freedom of expression, freedom to create, freedom to share.

Thanks to the lovely @Troisnyx for providing the vocals for this song! A lot of inspiration was taken from bands like Spiritbox, Tesseract, and the like. The idea is that the singer of this song has made an ultimate connection to the universe - that all things are connected in mind, body and spirit, and everything is sacred. I hope y'all enjoy this one!

I can breathe celestial memory

This is sacred light

You have turned Trois into an android a la Attack Attack! aha. I would never have recognized. Great work. My only complaint would be the amp tone could use some work on rhythm guitars. It is mostly fuzz, and has a pretty distinct digital feel to it on chords. Individual notes sound acceptable. I am not able to tell if there is a double track or not.

Still, well deserved front page. Congrats to you both <3

mr-jazzman responds:

Many thanks for your review!

Yeah, you’re right about the guitar tone. I’ve been experimenting lately with some IRs and screamer effects to give it a more organic tone. The VST I used had a doubling algorithm applied, but I’ve been experimenting with quadrupling tracks for an extra-wide/extra-heavy feel.

.......................is this an improved version of the song "Eclipse"? it's just, well, very similar

mr-jazzman responds:

Well…yeah, that’s a good observation. I was limited on tempo for this collab, and was enjoying the dropped B tuning, so yeah, they did end up sounding similar (not replicas, but definitely close). Months had passed between making Eclipse and Panpsyche, so I didn’t really juxtapose them to see how similar they were lol. Trust me, not all of my metal songs are going to be 125 BPM in dropped B tuning with a slogging syncopated beat like this! It’s fairly coincidental.

Very nice metal! I like it!
