This song has been 7 years in the making. On June 16th, 2016, my father passed away suddenly. I won't get into the tragic story of it, but obviously it hit my family and I pretty hard. Through out the following week or so after he passed, I did what I normally do to deal with any sort of emotion; I wrote. Even though I wrote a couple songs, this one really stuck with me the most. I feel it's a good example of the roller coaster of emotions we tend to feel with a tragic loss. The pain, the anger, the countless nights awake, the days that go on forever, the questions you'll never have an answer to...the desire to just see them one more time.

This song has definitely evolved over the years, but I finally felt it was ready to have a voice to it. So I'm eternally grateful to Zac from Beyond Our Eyes for not only being willing to step up on vocals, but really going above and beyond and bringing the emotion to the song, I felt it needed. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

I hope this resonates with anyone who has lost a loved one and I hope you'll take 5 minutes with me to remember anyone you may have lost.
