In 2008, I released a 3 minute and 47 second song named "Bren Dad Ickson" along with a music video featuring clips of Deven Green's parody of Brenda Dickson's home vanity video "Welcome To My Home." As the years have progressed, I made 4 additional remixes of the song:

• The "Absolutely Yums" remix on December 23, 2008 (4 minutes and 13 seconds)
• The "Swine Flu" remix on August 10, 2009 (5 minutes and 37 seconds)
• The "Hardcore" remix on September 14, 2011 (7 minutes and 12 seconds)
• The "Hardcore Dub Edit" remix on September 21, 2011 (4 minutes and 52 minutes)

In 2011, I started listening to a lot of dubstep and chillstep. The original mix was essentially Electronic Dance/House, and a thought occurred to me, wouldn't it be great to do another remix of this song, but in dubstep format, and make it longer quite like what I was seeing on a lot of dubstep songs?

This is where I fostered The "Hardcore" and "Hardcore Dub Edit" remixes.

Earlier this month, I was testing audio in my home using these files as I needed a lossless audio file that I had the highest quality of, and it happened to be all of these tracks. As I was listening on my Dolby Atmos Sony AVR, I started to hear the imperfections in the songs I wish I could have done a bit differently with the Hardcore remix that I worked out in the Hardcore Dub Edit, but also noticed there were things I wanted to change with the Dub Edit as well. And because I wasn't too spectacular at mastering, I used "Wave Hammers" to prevent my audio clips and the master from going over peak.

I then discovered a half-hour later, that I had the project file for the "Hardcore" remix completely intact from 11+ years ago Loaded up the project, removed all the "Wave Hammers", re-did the way I was EQing, removed portions that were over-saturating the song's bass or melody, and even re-worked the bass or melody in spots, and added more effect automation (particularly with reverb). One of the biggest changes in the song is making the melody from the original mix from 2008 more present.

The audio was rendered in 96Khz/24-bit, unlike the other remixes. Since the song was essentially already "finished" when I started working on it, not much time was needed to make all of these changes (maybe 1-2 weeks). I initially released this track to SoundCloud on February 15, 2023.
