We're at the third song of the album already? Time sure flies.
It's been a while since I've last made a regular ol' progressive house track, so it felt like a good time for a new one. While I'm at it I might add that this is probably the best one I've made, even though it took a runtime of over 8 minutes long to get there. With this track, I got self-aware about most of my Lazerwing-style tracks using so few chords. To finally break the cycle I made an 8-chord loop, which is much longer than any of my EDM songs. I feel this made the track feel more emotional, especially with the bass rising in every 6th chord, mmm delicious, I love it. There isn't much to say about anything in particular sound-design-wise, except for maybe the main clicky sort of square sound. That was made by washing out an arp with Endless Smile and Valhallaroom and then adding a high-frequency LFOtool with some attack on the whole thing. It's quite a useful technique for making washed-out sounds feel rhythmic. I'm also quite proud of the synth lead in this one. While at its core it's just more of the same old Lazerwing vibrato lead technique, I added a ton of different macros and automation tracks to make it a lot more expressive. Finally, this is, at least to my recollection, the first ever song I used a guitar sound. While it is not the most dynamic or realistic-sounding stuff, it's quite cool that I managed to fit it into a song after all this time.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
