Ah, a good tribute to the frantic energy and determined protagonists of the games of old. Love the fun riffs and excellent atmosphere!
The final battle's large body count (don't worry -- you just bully, not kill, hence the song's title) needed a tribute to the kind of music that Bobby Prince made for DOOM and DOOM II. "Metal" of any description is not normally among the genres of music that I generally listen to, and this is only the second time (ever, but also this year) that I've attempted to compose any sort music with a metallic flavour. But I respect it as a genre that has a well-earned place in videogames (to name just one medium), such as the "final battle" level of Leslie & Brianne's Galactic Rampage. I did prepare for this by playing some DOOM games and listening to heavy/speed metal playlists, so I'm totes an expert now... How do you do, fellow metal-heads? \m/ (>_<) \m/
This level is just a gleeful free-for-all where the enemies are throwing everything they've got at you, but as long as you keep bashing them, even if you die a hundred times, you keep making progress towards your final goal, like a salmon heading upstream despite all odds. Not a lot of thinking required. Some, but not a lot. I think it's a lot of fun, and I was looking forward to designing it and making music for it after doing all the other levels.
