Yo, I always knew, the final song in my album HAS to be called Dark Matter, because the first song was called Light Matter, but I had to scrap this song and restart completely SO MANY TIMES and I can't believe I'm finally somewhat happy with it.

I guess I should give you guys the last bit of the Derpitic Chronicles album lore...

Not a new source of Light Matter, but the original source of all the Dark Matter in the universe. If they could somehow successfully get rid of that thing, then they would be able to return home. But the giant cloud of Dark Matter was guarded by monsters with no right to exist anywhere outside of nightmares. An epic battle unfolded, but it will not be explained in detail because it was too epic to be described. But what I can say is that the Derpits were greatly outmatched, though, and their numbers were quickly depleting. But at the last moment, when all hope seemed lost, a beam of light shot down from above and cut through the heart of the darkness. To this day we have no idea what the beam of light actually was. Some say it was a spirit guarding the Derpits, others say it was the souls of their brethren who had fallen in battle, but no one really knows for sure.

But the Derpits emerged victorious and returned home, but not without a boatload of losses. A great portion of them had died in battle and it would be a while until they got back to living how they had previously. But life did go on, and now that the source of the universe’s Dark Matter had been destroyed, there was nothing to threaten the Derpit’s peaceful home.

Or was there?
