The shores eroding, the sun's exploding

the guns you tote in safes your sons can open

same ones you hope can save the ones you hold close

were made to blow the soldiers brains all over

as strange aromas float the fragrant odor

laced with potent haze you take to cope with pain and hate

you hope to hike the slope

away from sniper scopes to find a pipe to smoke

the light gets low, the rope gets tight to hold the load

the knife unstowed

another wife's a widow

another lifeless kiddo 'so and so'

past the point of clasping fists

last decision, a blast a flash then class dismissed, that's the gist isn't it?

Savage act, a classic tragedy now back to business

witness madness with a practiced apathy

this menagerie's captive

days blend with insane trends

but do we know the names of those the flames rend?

we've lost count, the costs mount,

the sound of hearts pounding starts drowning

hours pass in doubt, dark clouds surround and towers crash

...but how's your cash?

Maybe they found your stash sifting through the mounds of ash

Swift to action if it impacts them when they're lounging back

it's all a game, the part is played,

relax and lay your praise upon the martyrs grave,

bastards claim the slain are actors

'socialists framing fascists'

pass blame, craft statements,

tactics to sway the masses

they feign the passion they lack and stain caskets

rehash vapid disdain, can't even fake a sadness

Pigpens full of slop

tastes like swine finish every last drop

time to get in line when the slaughterhouse opens with a POP
