I've mentioned previously how I've been keeping myself busy with mods for Friday Night Funkin. Recently I've gained a bit of a lull in that busyness, and in that time I got a bit of a hunger for something new. It's understandable since a change of scenery is always interesting to many individuals, but this one was more specific.
Back a bit ago, one of my friends @Troisnyx mentioned on Twitter how they wanted to create a game that could revolve around the music. In fact, I've been told one of the songs for the OST will be revealed in these next forty days of Lent, and I'm looking forward to it. I think it's a great idea to have a story-based game that uses little to no dialogue, a bunch of music, and a whole lot of atmosphere - it can deliver a powerful message. Following that, I decided to play a frontpage game out-of-the-blue and stumbled on @MrNannings 's Vacuum Ball. It's by no means perfect or novel, but I do think it's a great game to play, and the music is especially calming and relaxed. It gives the vibe of old-school puzzle games that you'd find on places like Coolmath, and it inspired me to open Ableton and do this in just a few hours.
I'm hoping sometime that I can get back into making actual, full-length music sometime or even create something for a game. Don't get me wrong, I still will involve myself with FNF, but after doing this I want to explore further and see what I could do. It would be something new that I'd be down to explore and see how well I fare and how much I can grow from everything.
