Last night I decided to try and make a quick lil' song using only real instrument samples, rather than any synths. I felt I was getting too caught up on messing with sound design to actually get into making a full song. This was made in about 45 minutes using the stock instrument samples and effects that came with FL Studio.

Much like my previous song, I also used this opportunity to become more familiar with the tools available to me that I've been neglecting. Specifically, I've starting editing the velocities of individual notes such that the melodies and beats sound a lot less robotic. I also felt like creating one of the drum patterns off-grid so that it felt a little bit more fluid.

Mastering with the bass / low-end may still be a little off in some parts but I didn't take this thing too seriously.
